How to Find UK Visa Sponsorship Jobs from Bangladesh

The most dangerous moment in a UK Skilled Worker application is not the visa interview or the document verification. It is the moment a Bangladeshi professional receives a job offer from an employer who turns out not to have a Sponsor Licence — or worse, from someone who fabricated the offer entirely. Investigations in early 2026 revealed agents charging up to £13,000 for fictitious Certificates of Sponsorship. The professionals who paid lost both the money and any chance of a legitimate application.

Finding a real sponsored job requires using the right sources and verifying what you find before spending a single taka on TB tests or IELTS registrations.

Start with the Register of Licensed Sponsors

The Home Office publishes a list of every UK employer currently authorised to sponsor overseas workers. It is publicly accessible and free. Search it at:

gov.uk/government/publications/register-of-licensed-sponsors-workers

Before accepting any job offer that promises visa sponsorship, search for the company's exact legal name on this register. If the company does not appear, they cannot legally assign you a Certificate of Sponsorship, regardless of what they tell you in writing. This check takes two minutes and is non-negotiable.

The register shows the company name, town, and whether they hold a Student or Worker sponsor licence (or both). It does not show how many workers they sponsor or their financial health — but it confirms their legal eligibility to sponsor.

Where to Find Sponsored Roles

Indeed UK and TotalJobs: The two largest UK job aggregators. Both allow you to search specifically for roles that offer "visa sponsorship." Filter by profession, then check the employer's Sponsor Licence status before applying. Many listings that claim sponsorship are posted by agencies rather than the direct employer — the sponsoring employer is the company the agency places you with, not the agency itself.

LinkedIn: Useful for identifying companies actively hiring from overseas. Setting your location to London or Manchester and filtering by your professional sector shows you which employers are recruiting at your level. Check company pages for references to international or overseas recruitment programmes.

NHS Jobs (nhsjobs.com): For healthcare professionals — nurses, healthcare assistants, allied health workers — this is the primary portal. Roles on NHS Jobs that specify "Skilled Worker sponsorship available" are genuine and all NHS trusts are approved sponsors. This is the lowest-risk route to finding a legitimate sponsored offer.

UK Register of Licensed Sponsors (direct approach): Download the full register as a CSV file and filter it by sector or region. Identify companies in your field and approach them directly with a cover letter and CV, stating your interest in sponsored employment. This cold outreach approach is underused but effective for professionals with specialist skills.

Sectors with Active Bangladeshi Recruitment

Information Technology: Software developers, data analysts, and system architects are in consistent demand. For these roles, the going rate often exceeds the general £41,700 threshold — a senior developer typically needs to earn £49,400. Competition is high from Indian applicants, so a strong portfolio and specific technical specialisation improves success rates.

Healthcare: The NHS and CQC-regulated care providers are the largest consistent source of sponsored roles for Bangladeshi professionals. Nursing, healthcare assistant, and specialist clinical roles are regularly recruited from South Asia.

Engineering: Civil and structural engineering firms, particularly those working on infrastructure projects, recruit from Bangladesh — especially from BUET and similar engineering institutions whose degrees UK ENIC now more favourably assesses following the 2025 BNQF changes.

Accounting and Finance: ICAB and ACCA holders are increasingly sought by UK firms in audit, management accounting, and financial analysis. Ensure your qualification maps to RQF Level 6 through a current ECCTIS assessment before applying.

Video Interviews from Dhaka: Practical Realities

Most UK employers conduct initial rounds remotely. The time difference between Dhaka and London is five hours (six during UK summer time). Morning interviews in the UK are late afternoon or evening in Dhaka — manageable. Early morning UK slots (7–9 AM UK) are midnight to 2 AM in Dhaka — be prepared to negotiate.

Prepare for video interviews with a stable internet connection. Frequent power cuts in Bangladesh can disrupt calls. A 4G mobile data backup, a UPS for your router, and a quiet room are practical investments for the interview period. UK interviewers are generally understanding about technology interruptions, but demonstrating that you have planned for them signals professionalism.

Technical interviews in IT roles increasingly involve live coding challenges. Platforms like HackerRank and Codility are commonly used. Practice under timed conditions before the interview.

Credibility Interviews: The Post-Offer UKVI Check

After you receive a job offer and submit your visa application, UKVI may conduct a credibility interview with you by telephone or video. This is more common for care sector applicants and for career-switchers applying for roles in a different field from their Bangladeshi work experience.

The interview is not about technical skill. It is about whether UKVI believes the job offer is genuine and that you genuinely intend to perform the role. Common questions focus on what the employer's business does, what your specific responsibilities will be, where the office is located, and how you were recruited.

Research your employer thoroughly before the visa interview. Know their staff count, main clients or services, and where your role sits in the organisational structure. Vague or inconsistent answers are treated as credibility concerns.

Red Flags in Job Offers

A genuine UK employer offering visa sponsorship:

  • Has a verifiable presence on the Sponsor Licence register
  • Directs you to the official gov.uk application portal (never an unofficial "visa application website")
  • Does not ask you to pay for the Certificate of Sponsorship, placement fee, or "registration" costs
  • Provides a formal employment contract with a specific salary and role description
  • Uses a corporate email domain (@companyname.co.uk or .com), not a free email provider (@gmail.com, @yahoo.com)

Any offer that includes a request for money, requires you to pay "processing fees" before a CoS can be issued, or comes from a person who cannot be verified on LinkedIn or the company website should be treated as a potential scam.

Preparing for the Application Once You Have an Offer

Once you have a verified job offer from a licenced sponsor, begin your Bangladesh-side preparation immediately — do not wait for the CoS to arrive. The TB test, police clearance, and document authentication chain each take weeks, and your CoS will only be valid for 90 days from the date of assignment.

The UK Skilled Worker Visa Guide for Bangladeshi Professionals covers the full process from job offer to visa decision, including how to approach the credibility interview, the exact documents required from Bangladesh, and how to manage the 90-day CoS window around local bureaucratic timelines.
